A Personal Word from Jean

The Christian life is a race. The starter’s gun is fired the moment we become believers in Jesus. This race is a marathon requiring focus and endurance. Our heart, soul, mind, and strength must be fixed on the Lord Jesus Christ and His will. Read More

Along the way we will face hellish hardships and diabolical difficulties, placed in our path by our archenemy, Satan. Nonetheless, we must continue to run. Quitting isn’t an option. The thought of faltering or failing must not be entertained. Too much is at stake.

Paul understood the Christian race. From the moment he was confronted by Jesus on the road to Damascus, he ran well. He also finished strong as a faithful martyr in Rome at the order of Nero. Just before he died, Paul penned 2 Timothy. Writing to his favorite son in the ministry, Timothy, Paul briefly glanced back at the race he had run with and for Jesus. He summarized his race with one simple statement: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Ti. 4:7). But that was all the “looking over the shoulder” Paul could handle. Again he looked forward and said, “In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day” (2 Ti. 4:8). He was ready to cross the finish line!

For years, Jean’s passion has been to teach and disciple young women, especially young mothers, to be all that God has called them to be. Her insightful teaching will inspire and inform you regardless of which lap of the Christian race you find yourself running. Jean has run the race well and she is finishing strong. You will do well to heed her advice as a seasoned runner and an articulate coach.

Christian, the race is on! The time clock is steadily ticking. The finish line is rapidly approaching. Soon you will cross the finish line and see our Savior, Jesus. If you have stumbled, in Jesus’ name get up and get back in the race! Press through the pain. Be steadfast, immoveable. Keep going forward. Don’t quit! For the glory of God –

While there were several gifted teachers who discipled young women in that ministry, one in particular stands out in my mind. I was constantly being bombarded with requests from young women desiring to be in her class. Her love for the Lord and for people, her passion to see women grow, mixed with her giftedness to exposit God’s Word with practical insight for everyday living was a combination too irresistible for those girls not to be in her class regardless of the overcrowded situation. Those same young women today are now married, running well in the race, desiring to finish strong – and they are still waking up every day looking in the mirror of God’s Word and are living to be doers of God’s Word, not just hearers. That teacher yesterday is still God’s mouthpiece today, and her passion is even greater than ever. That, my friend, is Jean’s heart.  Hide this content
